Vietnam reports no new Covid-19 infection cases on August 30

Vietnam recorded no new Covid-19 infection case over the past 24 hours, the first time since July 25, keeping the country's patient tally at 1,040, the Ministry of Health reported on August 30.

Of the total, 350 patients were from abroad and 690 others were locally transmitted, with 550 linked to the new outbreak inthe central city of Danang since July 25.

The same day, 19 more Covid-19 patients were released from hospital following their full recovery, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 695.

There have been 32 deaths.

Among the patients being treated at local hospitals, 40 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 48 twice and 27 three times.

At present, more than 54,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
