According to a report from the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, search teams uncovered 13 additional sets of remains on August 25, bringing the cumulative total at the site to 494.
During the day, personnel processed more than 750 cubic metres of soil while continuing to expand the search area within the park.

To maintain the pace of the operation, the Ho Chi Minh City High Command deployed two excavators, a bulldozer, dump trucks and two cargo trucks to support excavation, soil transportation and search activities.
The recovery effort remains ongoing as authorities continue to investigate the site and search for additional remains and related artefacts.

The search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park was launched on July 6 following the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra at a workshop verifying information about a mass grave of martyrs in the area.
Earlier, based on witness accounts and historical records, the Ho Chi Minh City Command estimated that hundreds of martyrs killed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising may have been buried in Do Thanh - Chi Hoa cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park.
