Authorities in Danang City are attempting to establish contact with a fishing vessel carrying 50 crew members after it disappeared from communication systems while operating at sea.

Representatives of the Danang City Border Guard Command confirmed on August 27 that contact had still not been restored with squid-fishing vessel QNA 90859 TS, which has been out of communication since August 25.
According to the Vietnam Maritime Communication and Electronics System, the vessel was reported missing after all communication links were lost. The last signal from its vessel monitoring system was recorded at 12.54 pm on August 25.
The vessel is commanded by captain Huynh Van Tri and departed from An Hoa Port in Nui Thanh Commune, Danang City, on July 29 for a fishing voyage.
A preliminary report from the Danang City Border Guard Command said there were 50 crew members on board. Family members have been unable to contact the vessel and have requested assistance from the authorities.
Following the report, the Vietnam Maritime Communication and Electronics System launched multiple attempts to re-establish communication but has so far received no response from the vessel.
The Danang City Border Guard Command has instructed relevant agencies to work with local authorities and the crew members' families to monitor developments. Authorities have also issued alerts to vessels operating near the area, calling on them to assist in the search for QNA 90859 TS.
Efforts to determine the vessel's location and establish contact remain under way.
