The Ho Chi Minh City High Command said on the evening of August 24 that search teams had discovered an additional 26 sets of soldiers' remains and 10 sets of personal artefacts at Le Thi Rieng Park.

The latest findings raise the total number of remains recovered at the site to 481.
During the day, personnel processed more than 900 cubic metres of soil while continuing to expand the search area.
To maintain the pace of the operation, the Ho Chi Minh City High Command deployed two excavators, a bulldozer, dump trucks and two cargo trucks to support excavation and soil transportation activities.
The search and recovery operation remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to locate additional remains and associated artefacts at the park.

The search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park was launched on July 6 following the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra at a workshop verifying information about a mass grave of martyrs in the area.
Earlier, based on witness accounts and historical records, the Ho Chi Minh City Command estimated that hundreds of martyrs killed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising may have been buried in Do Thanh - Chi Hoa cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park.
