Vietnam has full historical and legal documents to affirm its indisputable sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. Other nations' activities carried out at these two archipelagoes without Vietnam’s approval are illegal and valueless.

Vietnam asks Chinese Taiwan respect its sovereignty - 1

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh

FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh made that statement on March 24 in response to a reporter’s question about Vietnam’s reaction to Taiwan taking a group of reporters to Ba Binh Island in Truong Sa archipelagoes on March 23.

Taiwan’s activity, regardless of Vietnam and international community’s concerns and disapproval, seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty, escalates tensions, and does not support  the maintenance of peace and stability in the East Sea and the two sides’ relations.

Vietnam resolutely opposes the activity and asks Taiwan to respect Vietnam’s sovereignty, prevent the repetition of any similar activities causing tensions and complicating the situations and make active contribution to the joint efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.
