According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorology Forecasting, the north will experience rains today, September 17, and tomorrow with the average rainfall of 100-150mm.

Super typhoon Mangkhut has been forecasted to cause torrential rains and landslides for the north 


The northern mountainous provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lai Chau and Lao Cai are expected to see the most torrential rains.

Some rivers in the region, including the Red River, Thai Binh, Thao, Lo and Ky Cung have been warned to face a flood on these days.

Meanwhile, many localities, including Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Bac Kan and Bac Giang would have landslides and floods.

The storm left a swath of damaged buildings and scores of injuries in Hong Kong and Macau before churning across the southern coast of China. It also ravaged the northern Philippines and left dozens buried in landslides.

Meteorologists have called Mangkhut the world’s most powerful storm so far this year, with a span as wide as 550 miles and wind gusts that hit 200 miles per hour last week.
