Nghe An authorities held a funeral ceremony for the soldiers at Nghi Loc Cemetery. Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Party Secretary of Nghe An Province Nguyen Dac Vinh and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the delegation of Laos also attended the ceremony.
90 sets of remains were found in Xiangkhouang Province, five was in Vientiane Province and nine in Xaisomboun Province.
Le Ngoc Hoa, vice chairwoman of Nghe An Province, expressed gratitude to the soldiers who died both Vietnam's independence and liberation of Laos. Hoa said they would continue to do their best to develop the country and tighten relation with Laos.
Laos and Vietnamese authorities have found nearly 12,000 set of remains of Vietnamese soldiers and were able to identify 960 soldiers.
Also on the same day, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung visited the nursing home for veterans with neuropsychiatric diseases and severe injuries. The nursing home cares for 100 veterans and family members of those who contributed to the country.
Dung expressed profound gratitude and sympathies to their losses and said their contribution and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
