The Vibot robots work from 8-12 am and 3-5 pm every day. They start their work by automatically leaving the charging station to bring food trolleys for delivery to patients.

When going to each room, the robots say “Please take your food” when the patients come out to receive their meals, then wave at the right corner of the robots three times to signal that the robot can move on to the next room. “Thank you and see you again!” the robots say before leaving.
After completing their duty, they return food trolleys and come back to the charging station.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Van from the Military Technical Academy of the Ministry of Defence, besides food, the robots can take medicine, necessities and other stuff from outside to patient rooms. They can also transport medically hazardous waste to designated spots.

Major General Nguyen Lac Hong, Deputy Director of the Military Technical Academy, said that the robots can transport 100 kilos at one time. During the working time, they generate relaxing music or say sentences such as thank you or goodbye.
The robots are connected to a control centre via a wireless intercom and camera system so medical staff can monitor and control the robots and communicate with the patients. This helps to reduce Covid-19 cross-infection risks at the hospital.
Each robot of its kind can replace 3-5 medical staff.
