Authorities in the southern coastal province of Khanh Hoa have vowed to remove all the construction works that are encroaching upon the public beaches in Nha Trang City.

The Ana Mandara Resort with a total area of 26,000 square metres on Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang City will be removed.
At present, the beach along Tran Phu Street is still being blocked by many projects including Eland Four Seasons Restaurant, Sailing Night Club, Louisiane Restaurant, and 378 Guesthouse.
When being asked about the removal of those projects, a representative from the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that they are now planning to remove the Ana Mandara and Evason Ana Mandara resort with a total area of 26,000 square metres along Tran Phu Street first.
The resort should be removed by the fourth quarter of this year when the investor completes the first phase of the Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Complex in the Cam Ranh Peninsula, the representative said.
Meanwhile, the committee is also checking other projects and will remove all those which are illegally encroaching or blocking local public beaches.
Architect Nguyen Van Loc, former chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Association of Architects and former director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Construction noted that construction density should make up 5% of public beach according to the local planning regulations. However, this regulation is being violated on some beaches in Nha Trang.
"Some projects like the Louisiane Restaurant and the Sailing Night Club which have been encroaching on public beach for a long time should be removed soon," he said.
Last month, authorities in Khanh Hoa committee reclaimed 10,000 square metres of sea area near Bai Duong Beach which they leased out to a tourism company.
