Several communes, including Nam Ma, Nam Cuoi, Pu Sam Cap, Than Uyen and Sin Ho, have been hit by landslides following days of heavy rain.

A low-water crossing bridge on Provincial Road 137 in Nam Ma Commune was severely damaged after floodwaters undermined one of its piers, raising fears of collapse. The route remains open only to motorcycles and pedestrians because it is the sole access road to several villages.
Landslides also disrupted traffic along sections of Provincial Road 137, while steep slopes along the route remain at risk of further collapse if heavy rain continues.
Authorities have cordoned off the damaged bridge and installed warning signs, while construction of a VND 25 billion (around USD 950,000) reinforced concrete bridge to replace the crossing is already under way and is expected to be completed by December 2026.
At least 10 households in Nam Ma Commune were affected by landslides, with some families forced to leave their homes because of the risk of further slope failures.
Heavy rain early on Tuesday also destroyed a two-storey house in Khong Lao Commune, flooded San Thang Market and inundated several homes in Sin Suoi Ho Commune.
Emergency teams remain on standby as heavy rain continues across the province.
