Danang to pay extra allowance for beach night patrols

Danang City will pay an additional VND 100,000 (around USD 3.80) per shift to personnel carrying out night-time beach patrol and rescue duties under a new city policy taking effect on July 10.

The allowance applies to civil servants, public employees and contract workers assigned to night duty at the city's beaches.

Eligible personnel include on-site rescue and security teams, inter-agency mobile patrol units, and agencies responsible for coordinating rescue operations and beach patrols.

The payment covers shifts between 7 pm and 10 pm and is separate from salaries or statutory overtime and night-work allowances.

City authorities said the policy aims to encourage frontline personnel and improve rescue services, public safety and security at Danang's beaches.

Officials have previously noted that beaches attract large numbers of visitors during the evening, making the 7 pm-10 pm period particularly demanding for rescue and security teams.
