On October 21, the mobile market surveillance team and Market Surveillance Team 4, in coordination with My Le Commune police, conducted an unannounced inspection of a warehouse operated by a local business.
At the time, more than 20 employees were processing online orders, sorting and packaging products for customers who had purchased them through e-commerce platforms.
Inspectors found 569,937 unused items in the warehouse, mainly cosmetics and household goods, along with shoes, phone accessories, coloured ink and glue products, handbags, backpacks, glasses and watches.
All the goods were foreign-made and showed signs of smuggling, with no clear documentation of their origin or provenance. The total value of the consignment was estimated at around VND 8 billion.
Given the large volume of goods, provincial market surveillance officials and My Le Commune police mobilised additional personnel from market surveillance departments and local security teams to count, seal and temporarily seize the entire consignment.
The goods were subsequently transferred to the authorities' offices for verification and further action.
The mobile market surveillance team is continuing to work with relevant agencies to establish the products' origins and clarify the circumstances of the case before taking action in accordance with the law.
