Dong Nai Province is set to begin construction of three roads linking Long Thanh International Airport with major national highways.

The Dong Nai People's Committee said preparations were being finalised for the groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for July 10.

The projects include upgrading DT769 and building the new DT770B and DT773 roads. Together, they will span more than 111 km, linking Long Thanh airport with National Highways 1, 51 and 56, Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 and other major transport routes

Among the three, DT769 is considered the most important, providing a direct link between the airport's Gate No. 2 and National Highways 1 and 51.

The 29-km road will be upgraded to a Class II highway with a design speed of 80 kph at a cost of more than VND 2.8 trillion (about USD 106 million). It will have at least six traffic lanes and include bridges, drainage systems, street lighting, landscaping and other road safety infrastructure.

The 42.7-km DT770B, costing about VND 4.7 trillion (around USD 179 million), will initially have six traffic lanes, two mixed-traffic lanes and a central median. Authorities have notified all 775 affected households of land acquisition, with surveys completed for 699 and land records verified for 651.

The third project, DT773, will upgrade and expand a 39-km route linking National Highway 1 with Huong Lo 10 and connecting directly to Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4.

Designed with six to eight lanes, the project will require the acquisition of more than 224 hectares of land and cost about VND4.3 trillion (around USD164 million), including VND 1.76 trillion for compensation and site clearance.

All three roads are designed for speeds of 80 kph. DT769 is expected to be completed in 2027, while DT770B and DT773 are scheduled for completion in 2028.

Once completed, the roads will strengthen links between Long Thanh International Airport, the national highway network, Ring Road 4 and regional expressways, easing congestion, cutting travel times and supporting urban, industrial and logistics development.
