
Figures released by the Ministry of Public Security showed that 369,210 new cars were registered nationwide during the first six months of the year, up from about 265,000 in the same period of 2025.
Motorcycles continued to dominate the market, with 1,825,459 new registrations, an increase of nearly 700,000 units from a year earlier.
The latest registrations brought the total number of cars on Vietnam's roads to 7,134,939, while the country's motorcycle fleet reached 84,003,180.
Overall, Vietnam now has more than 91.2 million registered motor vehicles in operation, according to the ministry.
