Police in An Hai Ward said the vendor was penalised for parking a vehicle on the roadway and selling goods on streets where hawking is prohibited. His motorcycle registration certificate was also temporarily confiscated.

The vendor also pledged to stop selling at the Son Tra Night Market and elsewhere in An Hai Ward.
The case drew public attention after a video posted on June 30 showed a tourist alleging that a durian weighing 1.5-1.7 kilogrammes had been falsely claimed by the seller to weigh 4 kilogrammes.
The vendor denied using inaccurate scales during the dispute but was seen behaving aggressively towards the customer in the video, prompting public criticism.
Police summoned the vendor for questioning shortly after the incident and recorded statements as part of their investigation.
