According to the Ha Long Bay-Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, infrastructure and visitor services at the beach have largely been restored and completed.
A representative of the unit managing the Ha Long Bay Flora and Fauna Conservation Project on Soi Sim Island said thousands of cubic metres of high-quality sand had been brought in over recent months to renovate and restore the beach.
The beach is now largely ready to welcome visitors. The management board aims to reopen it to tourists in November 2026.
Ha Long Bay currently has more than 100 small sandy beaches, many of which could potentially be developed for swimming. However, despite welcoming millions of visitors each year, the bay currently permits tourists to swim only at Ti Top Beach.
In June, a US-based beach-ranking organisation released its annual global beach guide, “Corona Beach 100 2026”. Soi Sim Beach in Ha Long Bay was included among the world's 100 most beautiful beaches for the year.
