In an announcement released on Tuesday, Ho Chi Minh City's Police Department said that the man's body was found by local people on the morning of January 9 at Lotus Port in Nguyen Van Quynh Street, District 7.
"Initial investigations showed that the body was of a foreign man of about 1.75 metres tall, aged about 35 years old with short hair," police reports.
The man was wearing a brown T-shirt with number "75" and letters "Armani Exchange".
He had many tattoos on his body including a big carp tattoo and some Japanese letters on his left thigh.
Investigation showed that the man was dead before being left at the muddy area.
