Hanoi to have new children's palace

The project has a capital of nearly VND1.4trn (USD60.4m). The palace will have a theatre with 800 seats, a 3D-4D cinema with 200 seats, a stadium with 500 seats, a pool, a library and other facilities. The palace will cover over 39,600 square metres of land and is expected to be completed in 2024.

According to the Management Board of Socio-Cultural Construction Investment Projects in Hanoi, the building will have modern and open architecture.

The Hanoi Children's Palace on Ly Thai To Street was built in 1973 with 100 classrooms. Each year up to 27,000 to 30,000 children come there to learn singing, dancing and other subjects. The entertainment area of the palace also attracts 100,000 children every year.

However, it has deteriorated badly over time. Despite many renovations, the infrastructure of the place is unable to meet the demand.

The Management Board of Socio-Cultural Construction Investment Projects in Hanoi said it was necessary to build another children's place for the children to learn and play.
