The project to expand Duyen Hai 3 coal power plant project has been seriously affected due to the fire which happened yesterday, March 7.
The project located in Duyen Hai Town started more than three years ago with investment of more than VND23 trillion (around USD1 billion) and is slated for completion later this year.
The provincial said up to 70 percent of the work on the project was destroyed by fire.

The fire reportedly started at around 10.30 am when workers were welding at the under-construction flue-gas desulfurisation area of the project.
The panic-stricken workers tried to escape the scene as firefighters tried to contain the blaze.
The fire was brought under control close to 1 pm. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Tra Vinh police have begun an urgent investigation into the incident.
