Following heavy downpours, scenes of waste-strewn beaches have become increasingly common in Danang. Runoff carries rubbish from various sources out to sea, forming dark streaks in the water. As the tide recedes, debris is left behind, scattered across the sand.

A wide range of waste has washed ashore, including several tonnes of driftwood, used plastic bottles, empty cans, and injection needles.

Fish cages damaged by waves were also washed up along the shoreline.

Sharp fragments of broken glass bottles were concealed within the debris, posing a hidden danger to beachgoers.

Currents also brought household waste and water hyacinths from the Han River, adding to the volume of debris on the beach.
