HCM City headquarters tour service upgrades proposed
The HCM City Department of Tourism has recommended providing more services to serve tourists visiting the HCM City People’s Committee and the People’s Council headquarters.
According to the HCM City Department of Tourism, around 10,000 tourists, including many foreigners, visited the HCM City People’s Committee and the People’s Council headquarters last year. Searches related to tours to this destination reached around 22 million on Google.
The building tours promote the history of HCM City as well as diversify the city’s tourism products.
However, the department has also noted the weaknesses of the programme. Specifically, there is a lack of automatic scanning at the entrance gate, leading to overstaffing. Additionally, there is no automated multilingual audio service for visitors.
The department has proposed adding an area at the headquarters to showcase the economic, cultural, and social achievements of HCM City since 1975. It was also necessary to arrange an area for selling souvenirs and establish a unit devoted to managing tours of the headquarters.
The Department of Tourism will work with concerned agencies to build software to book tours and provide audio guides.
Visits to the headquarters of the HCM City People's Council and People's Committee are scheduled to run 14 times through the year with each lasting just two days. Notably, there will be two sessions in January, May, and September, while the remaining months will have only one session, scheduled for the final weekend of each month.
