Grobest Industrial Vietnam Company has signed an agreement with the Vietnam Study Promotion Association to donate at least VND3bn (USD133,000) a year to support pupils with disadvantaged backgrounds.
The deal for 2016-2021 period was signed on December 10 in Danang City.

Mai Van Hoang, Grobest Vietnam's representative, said it was lucky that they were able to work with farmers in Vietnam in their line of work and understood the hardships in remote areas.
"There are many pupils who struggle to go to school. For years, we’ve worked with the Vietnam Study Promotion Association to support the pupils. But to expand the charity work, we decided to sign the agreement," he said.

Pham Huy Hoan, editor-in-chief of Dan Tri/Dtinews Newspaper and head of Vietnam Study Promotion Association said, "Since 2013, Grobest Vietnam in association with the Vietnam Study Promotion Association and Dan Tri/Dtinews Newspaper have given nearly VND8bn (USD354,000) worth of scholarships to 13,000 pupils in 33 cities and provinces. We provided over 5,000 scholarships worth VND3bn just in 2005 for the pupils in Mekong Delta and coastal provinces."

He expressed gratitude to leaders and employees of Grobest Vietnam who have been giving strong support to poor children.
After the signing ceremony, 30 scholarships, each worth VND2m (USD88), were given to highly-achieving Danang pupils.
Dang Thi Men, a 10th grader at Ton That Tung High School, said the pupils had their own difficulties but they all want a better future.
"With each gift, what we receive is not only financial support but also priceless emotional support. Thanks to such support, we've tried our best to study to be a good person for ourselves, our families and the community," she said.
