
Dantri/DTiNews coordinated with Hospital 19-8 and Pharmacity Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to carry out this activity in Vinh Linh Commune on July 9 to mark the 78th year of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

The programme was attended by Journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Party Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/DTiNews; Le Thi Thanh, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Home Affairs and other representatives from Quang Tri Province, Hospital 19-8 and Pharmacity Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.
From early morning, the Hoa Phu Cultural House in Vinh Linh Commune, Quang Tri Province, was filled with war veterans. Walking sticks, wheelchairs, and warm handshakes turned the medical check-up into a heartfelt reunion, where old comrades shared memories of their wartime years.
At the event, Journalist Pham Tuan Anh stated that, as the official media outlet of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dantri/DTiNews has actively participated in activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

The newspaper, in collaboration with 19-8 Hospital and Pharmacity, provided home health check-ups on July 7-9 for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and severely wounded veterans in Vinh Linh.
Le Thi Thanh, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Home Affairs, expressed her sincere appreciation for the meaningful support of Dantri/DTiNews, Hospital 19-8 and Pharmacity in caring for the health of those who rendered service to the nation.

The medical stations were divided into internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, osteoporosis screening and ophthalmology.
Phan Van Duong, 86, said that through the examination, he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was at risk of cardiovascular disease. He conveyed his deep gratitude to Dantri/DTiNews and the sponsors for this programme.
Doctor Tran Hoai Nam, head of the medical team from Hospital 19-8, said nearly 300 wounded veterans and contributors were examined in the morning. Common conditions included hypertension, diabetes, chronic lung disease, and bone and joint problems. Most patients were elderly and living in harsh conditions, making them prone to chronic illnesses.

Dantri/DTiNews also presented 50 cash gifts, each worth VND 1 million, to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and wounded veterans. Pharmacity sponsored 300 gift packages, each valued at VND 500,000, along with 20 scholarships of VND 1 million for underprivileged students in Vinh Linh. Meanwhile, doctors from Hospital 19-8 offered free medical check-ups and consultations.

The former Vinh Linh District is home to 5,300 martyrs, 2,700 wounded veterans, 740 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and over 30,000 individuals awarded various medals and honours. The locality is also home to 12 war cemeteries, where nearly 9,000 fallen soldiers from 41 provinces and cities have been laid to rest. Among them, Vinh Linh Cemetery ranks among the four largest in the country.
