Quang Ninh launches free electric school bus service for students

Students at public schools in the wards of Ha Long, Hong Gai and Ha Tu will receive free transportation to and from school through a new electric bus service.

Quang Ninh authorities officially launched on September 3 the school bus programme for the 2026-2027 academic year at Tran Hung Dao Primary School in Hong Gai Ward.

Earlier, on August 25, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council approved a resolution providing full fare subsidies for students using school bus services in Ha Long, Hong Gai and Ha Tu during the 2026-2027 school year.

As of August 19, a total of 1,728 students from 14 schools across the three wards had registered for the free electric bus programme.

The free buses, operated by VinBus, will begin service on September 5. The programme will deploy 50 electric buses on six main routes.

The routes will operate from Monday to Friday, while several services will also run on Saturdays according to published schedules.
