Over 275,000 visitors stayed overnight, up 36 per cent year on year. Average hotel occupancy reached 65-70 per cent, rising to around 75 per cent at four- and five-star hotels and equivalent properties, with visitors concentrated in beachfront and central areas.
Danang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport handled 810 flights during the holiday, up 19 per cent year on year, averaging 162 flights a day, around 26 more than during the same period in 2025.
Data from major online travel platforms showed Danang topped the list of domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese travellers for the 2026 National Day holiday and ranked third in bookings on Traveloka.
A series of events were held during the holiday, including the 2026 Pickleball World Cup, which attracted nearly 5,000 participants from 81 countries and territories.
Hoi An Creative Week 2026 also featured activities linking heritage, traditional crafts and folk arts with design, technology, education and contemporary creative practices.
The Returning to the Sacred Moment programme, organised by Voice of Vietnam and the Danang People's Committee at APEC Park from September 2-4, also drew large crowds.
Travel companies offered promotions on domestic and international tours during the holiday.
Danang aims to welcome over 19 million visitors in 2026 as it seeks to develop tourism around local culture, nature and more authentic and sustainable experiences.
Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said Danang was seeking to offer visitors deeper and more meaningful experiences, reflecting a global trend towards authentic connections with destinations.
