The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced a video contest aimed at promoting awareness of climate change.
Climate change has become an increasingly critical topic, and one that is in need of urgent attention from today's generation. Asia and the Pacific are areas in particular danger from the effects of climate change. The region is considered to be extremely vulnerable to the aftermath of continued changes in the climate.
The contest is acting on the notion that the situation is already critical and that, "Every person plays an important role in our collective fight against climate change," as pointed out by ADB's Ann Quon.
Entering is simple, the only requirement is to be a member of one of ADB's 67 contributing nations (check here: http://www.adb.org/About/membership.asp).
The contest is now accepting entries which must be submitted by January 31, 2010. More than US $10,000 in prizes are being offered from the following three categories. Fill out the correct form and upload your video to Youtube or Youku to be eligable:
Three categories of prizes:
(1) Youth (under 21) from an ADB Developing Member Country
http://www.adb.org/Countries/;
(2) Open (21+) from an ADB Developing Member Country
http://www.adb.org/Countries/; and
(3) Citizens of all other ADB member countries.
Contest Judges include Cannes and Venice International Film Festival award-winning directors.
