Around 340 Vietnamese citizens from Russia have been brought home on a flight of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.
The flight, which landed at Cam Ranh Airport in the southern central province of Khanh Hoa, on Friday, transported people who are the elderly, children under 18 years old, people with illnesses, and other people in extremely difficult circumstances.
Vietnamese representative agencies in Russia arranged staff members to help with boarding procedures.
On arrival at Cam Ranh Airport, all crew members and passengers were provided with health check-ups and quarantined in line with regulations.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will be carried out based on the developments of the pandemic and domestic quarantine capacity.
