Heavy rain on the afternoon of August 27 left many streets and residential areas in Hanoi severely flooded.

Nguyen Van Hai brought out a boat from the restaurant where he works to help ferry residents across the deeply flooded stretch.

"This area floods badly after every 30 minutes of heavy rain, so this boat is often brought out to help people, especially the elderly and children crossing the flooded section," Hai said (Photo: Hai Long).
