
The cancelled flights are VN578 from Hanoi to Taipei on July 10, VN579 from Taipei to Hanoi on July 10, VN570 from Ho Chi Minh City to Taipei on July 11, and VN571 from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City on July 11.
The airline has also adjusted schedules for flights serving Kaohsiung. Flight VN586 from Hanoi to Kaohsiung and flight VN580 from Ho Chi Minh City to Kaohsiung on July 10 will depart one hour earlier than originally planned.
On the return leg, flight VN587 from Kaohsiung to Hanoi and flight VN581 from Kaohsiung to Ho Chi Minh City, originally scheduled for July 11, have been brought forward to July 10.
To accommodate passengers affected by the disruption, Vietnam Airlines said it plans to deploy wide-body Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft on services between Vietnam and Taipei on July 11 and 12, increasing seat capacity to help clear the backlog of travellers.
The carrier also warned that flights to and from Japan, South Korea and China could face further disruption as schedules are adjusted in response to adverse weather conditions.
Vietnam Airlines urged passengers to follow cabin crew instructions throughout their journey, particularly by keeping seat belts fastened whenever the seat belt sign is illuminated or when advised by the crew.
Passengers travelling to or from airports in Taiwan and other parts of Northeast Asia are advised to monitor the airline's official channels regularly for the latest flight updates and make travel arrangements accordingly.
