Hue City People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang joined the fish release.
The fish included crucian carp, yellow catfish, climbing perch and common carp, species considered suitable for the river's natural conditions, according to the Hue Department of Agriculture and Environment.

The department said aquatic species are released each year into rivers, reservoirs, lagoons and coastal waters across Hue as part of efforts to restore fish stocks and aquatic habitats.
Species are selected according to local freshwater, brackish-water and marine conditions, with priority given to native and locally valuable species.
Authorities said they would continue stocking suitable species and encourage community involvement in protecting aquatic resources.
Residents were also urged to avoid destructive fishing practices and, when releasing aquatic animals, to choose permitted native species suited to local ecosystems.
