Tuyen Quang opens road linking tourist site to expressways

Tuyen Quang Province has opened an 8.9-km road linking the My Lam mineral spring tourist area to major highways and expressways, built at a cost of VND 487 billion (USD 18.5 million).

The road runs through My Lam Ward and Nhu Khe Commune and connects the tourist area with National Highway 2D, providing links to the Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressways and other key transport routes in the region.

The project is expected to improve transport infrastructure and regional connectivity, while supporting tourism, trade, services and urban development around My Lam.

Le Thanh Son, director of the Tuyen Quang Department of Construction, said the road was built to urban road standards with a design speed of 50 kph. It starts at its intersection with National Highway 37 in My Lam ward and ends at National Highway 2D in Nhu Khe Commune.

The project includes Phu Lam Bridge, drainage systems, pavements, trees and landscaping, retaining walls and slope reinforcement, intersections, street lighting, traffic safety facilities and other supporting infrastructure.

Provincial authorities said the new route would improve travel and goods transport and provide better access to the My Lam mineral spring tourist area, helping unlock its tourism potential and attract investment in tourism, trade and services.

The province plans to further develop My Lam and surrounding areas, with a focus on attracting investment in resorts, wellness tourism and high-quality services.

Authorities said tourism development in the area would be accompanied by efforts to protect the environment, preserve the landscape and local cultural identity, while creating jobs and raising incomes for local residents.

The road is also expected to strengthen inter-regional links and provide additional transport infrastructure for urban expansion and economic development in My Lam, Nhu Khe and neighbouring areas.
