Chairman of Kieu Ky Commune in Gia Lam District, Dinh Van Giang, told Dantri/Dtinews that the incident occurred at 8.15 am on September 15 when a man and a woman were travelling on a motorbike on the Road 179 in the area.
"The 28-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were found dead lying on the road after a lightning strike," the official said. "Initial investigations showed that they were killed by lightning."
According to some witnesses of the accident, it was raining and they suddenly saw two lightning strikes and then they saw the two victims lying on the road.

Police are further investigating the cause of the accident.
