Three people and over 200 pigs were killed in lightning strikes in Thai Binh Province during a rain yesterday.

The Thuy Thanh Communal People's Committee announced that three people were killed in lightning strikes while travelling during a rainstorm at 4.10pm on May 12.
"The three victims including two men and a woman were travelling on their motorbike home from work when the accident occured," the committee said.
The Thai Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also reported that over 200 pigs in a farm in Hung Ha District were killed in the lightning strikes the same afternoon.

"229 pigs weighing between 78-120 kilos were killed at a farm of the Hoang Van Nha family in Tay Do District," the report said. "The 600-square-metre farm was heavily burnt and damaged.
Thai Binh Province saw heavy rains with lightning strikes which lasted about an hour late Thursday afternoon.
