The information was confirmed by an official from Danang Hospital for Lung Diseases this afternoon, May 21.
Patient 3653 is an 89-year-old woman from Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District. She was diagnosed with some serious diseases such as high blood pressure, heart failure and chronic gastritis.
She was taken to Hoa Vang District’s Medical Centre on May 12 after testing positive for Covid-19. On May 17, she was moved to Danang Hospital for Lung Diseases because of her worsened condition.This is the first Covid-19 death in Danang since the country’s fourth Covid-19 wave.
To date, Vietnam has witnessed 41 Covid-19 fatalities with the majority being the elderly and having underlying diseases.
