The Covid-19 testing in HCM City

According to Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai, the office manager of the HCM City Health Department to date, the city has detected 92 Omicron cases, but all except five are imported cases. Most of the patients have mild symptoms such as fatigue, fever and chills.

However, an 82-year-old woman who entered Vietnam from the US has remained a serious case. HCM City has controlled Omicron infection to date.

Under the department’s proposal, patients with no or mild symptoms should be isolated at home, while those with more severe symptoms should be transferred to a field hospital for treatment. Moderate cases should be sent to Field Hospital 12 or a private hospital authorised by the department.

The city has deployed a plan on Omicron prevention during Tet, including screening measures at airports.
