A hit and run accident involving an SUV in Ea D'rang, Dak Lak Province resulted in two deaths and eight injuries on the afternoon of October 20.
The accident, which occurred on the road to Ea D'rang, killed 63-year-old woman and a 3-month-old girl. Four of the eight injured in the incident were taken to Thien Hanh General Hospital and Dak Lak Province General Hospital for treatment, while the remaining victims were sent to the emergency room at Ea H'leo District General Hospital.
Two injured people are being treat at a local hospital.
Although the SUV driver fled the scene, she was later apprehended and identified as a 26-year-old resident of Ea D'rang. According to the preliminary investigation, she was drunk and made a turn towards the town's market from National Highway 14 and mistakenly hit accelerator instead of brake, colliding into four motorbikes and a fruit stand.
