Four more imported Covid-19 patients confirmed on Thursday morning

According to the ministry's report, three of the newly-reported patients include two men and a woman aged between 26-32 who arrived at Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa Province from Japan on April 11. They were sent to a local quarantine site upon arrival and tested positive for coronavirus on April 14.

The patients are now being treated at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The other patient is a 25-year-old man who returned from abroad through Ha Tien International Border Gate on April 10. He was sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 13.

The man is now being treated at the Ha Tien City Healthcare Centre.


With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,733, including 910 locally-transmitted cases reported since the new outbreak started in Hai Duong on January 28.

As of 6 pm on April 14, a total of 2,445 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, nearly 39,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
