With total investment of more than 428 billion VND and covering an area of 1,914 square metres, the centre will include 14 floors, including two under the ground.

The 250-bed facility will examine, diagnose and treat patients suffering from tumours and cancer.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highly valued and applauded the efforts of hospital staff to care for and treat patients in southern cities and provinces, and across the country.

He said that building the centre reflects the guidelines and policies of the Vietnamese Party and State to develop the healthcare sector, in particular the examination and treatment of tumour and cancer patients.

Dung urged the hospital’s staff to improve their skills to meet healthcare public demand, as well as the expectations of the Party and State.
