Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Phi Long said that the road belongs to a larger project to expand Hoai Nhon Town further towards the coast.
"The project will also extend the coastal road route in the province which will help facilitate economic and tourism development in the area," the official said.
The same day, the province opened the DT 639 coastal road which connects Lai Giang Bridge and Thien Chanh Bridge.
These roads are part of the VND7.5 trillion 118-kilometre coastal road running from Quy Nhon City to Tam Quan Ward.
