According to a directive issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee on August 20, the city will supply bottled water, compressed rations and instant cakes, while also setting up shaded areas and free bus routes, particularly for elderly citizens travelling from other provinces.
Along streets where the parade will take place, authorities will ensure security and arrange priority seating for war veterans, older people, women and children. Rehearsals are scheduled for August 21, 24 and 30 ahead of the official ceremony and parade at 6.30 am on September 2.
In addition to attending in person, residents will be able to watch the event on large screens installed at public locations.
The city has urged people to use public transport, as several streets will be closed or restricted during the celebrations. Hanoi’s two metro lines will extend operating hours, running from 5.30 am to midnight on August 21, 24, 27 and 29; from 5 am to 10 pm on August 30; from 5.30 am to midnight on September 1; and continuously from midnight to 10 pm on September 2, with trains every six minutes during rush hour.
Key bus routes serving the central area include Route 9A from Hoan Kiem Lake to Nguyen Hoang Ton, Route 22A from Gia Lam to Kim Ma, Route E9 from Smart City to West Lake, Route 32 from Giap Bat to Nhon, and the BRT from Yen Nghia to Kim Ma.
For those using private vehicles, local wards and communes have been instructed to designate government offices, schools, cultural houses and stadiums as temporary parking lots.
