Vietnam's railway operator has added services on several routes ahead of the National Day holiday, which runs from August 28 to September 2.

The Railway Transport JSC has scheduled four additional North-South passenger services, SE23 and SE24, as well as 33 additional trains on regional routes.
Six pairs of trains will continue to operate regularly on the North-South route: SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10 and SE11/12. Four additional SE23 and SE24 services will depart from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on August 28 and August 31.
On the Hanoi-Danang route, the high-quality SE19/20 service will continue to operate, with additional SE17 and SE18 trains scheduled for August 29 and August 30 respectively.
The Hanoi-Vinh route will continue to operate NA1/2, with three additional services: NA3 on August 28, and QB2 on September 1 and 2. The latter will depart Vinh at 7.39 pm and arrive in Hanoi at 3.55 am.
Two additional QB1 and QB2 services will operate between Hanoi and Dong Hoi on August 28 and August 31 respectively. The Hue-Danang route will continue to operate two pairs of trains, HD1/2 and HD3/4, while the Hanoi-Lao Cai route will maintain SP3/4 and SP7/8.
Four daily train pairs will continue to run between Hanoi, Hai Duong and Haiphong: HP1/2, LP2/3, LP5/6 and LP7/8. An additional 12 services will operate during the holiday period, including LP9 from August 29 to September 1, LP10 from August 30 to September 2, HP3 on August 29 and 30, and HP4 on September 1 and 2.
On the southern network, the Saigon-Danang route will continue to operate SE21/22. Two additional services will run between Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon, with SE30 scheduled for August 28 and SE29 for September 2.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang route will operate SNT2 and STN1 daily, alongside seven additional services: SNT4, SNT6 and SNT8 on August 28; SNT5 on September 1 and 2; and SNT3 on August 29 and September 2.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Phan Thiet route will continue to operate SPT2/SPT1 daily, with five additional services. SPT4 will run on August 29, August 30 and September 2, while SPT3 will operate on September 1 and 2.
According to Railway Transport JSC, about 64,000 tickets for holiday travel have been sold so far.
A new tourism service will also be launched on August 28 at Dong Hoi Station. Vietnam National Railways will inaugurate the Hue-Phong Nha tourist train, with its inaugural HQ3 service running from Dong Hoi to Hue.
The eight-carriage train will accommodate more than 300 passengers. It will feature five soft-seat carriages with 180-degree rotating seats, a 24-seat VIP carriage, a community carriage and an entertainment and services carriage, with the aim of turning the journey itself into part of the travel experience.
