HCM City stadium to be renovated
HCM City will spend VND149 billion (USD6.08 million) renovating Thong Nhat Stadium.
According to the HCM City Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects, the project will concentrate on upgrading stands A, C, and D, pitch, running track, and technical infrastructure and on building new B, C1, and D1 stands.

The project will also include constructing a wastewater treatment facility and an underground water tank for domestic use and firefighting.
The upgrade of Thong Nhat Stadium aims to meet the demand of sport events and training while also providing facilities for public sports activities.
The HCM City Department of Construction is appraising the project’s feasibility study.
The project is expected to start in January 2025 and be put into use in December of the same year.
