Northern region forecasted to face hot weather

Vietnam’s northern region has been forecasted to see hot weather from this afternoon, June 11, following a prolonged rainy spell.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, from Monday evening to early this morning, northern and northern central localities had rainfall of 10-50mm.

From this afternoon, some northern localities would have sunshine with a temperature of 34 degrees centigrade.

From Wednesday, the northern region would witness the first hot wave of June with northeastern areas affected the most with temperatures of more than 38 degrees centigrade.

The hot weather would last until June 15 and be followed by rains.

Torrential rains have severely hit many northern mountainous areas, particularly in Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh and Haiphong.

In Ha Giang, three people have died in the flood, while nearly 2,400 houses were submerged.
