More Turkish Airlines flights to connect Vietnam and Turkey from October

Turkish Airlines, recently named “Best Airline in Europe 2025” by Skytrax, plans to raise the number of flights between Vietnam and Turkey as a way of further strengthening regional air connectivity.

The airline currently operates 14 direct flights per week between the two countries, seven from Hanoi and seven from Ho Chi Minh City to Istanbul. These remain the only nonstop air links between Vietnam and Turkey.

According to AeroRoutes, Turkish Airlines is set to increase the frequency of its direct flights from October 2025. The Hanoi–Istanbul route will be raised to 11 flights per week, while the Ho Chi Minh City–Istanbul route will be expanded to 10 flights per week. This will bring the total number of weekly direct flights to 21, the highest level ever recorded on this route.

The move comes just ahead of the peak winter holiday season in order to meet growing travel demand. The additional flights will offer Vietnamese passengers more flexible scheduling options, catering to tourism, business travel, and transit needs.

Beyond aviation, the expanded air links are expected to generate broader economic, social, and cultural benefits. With more direct flights, Vietnamese travelers will find it easier to access Turkey–an increasingly popular destination known for its striking landscapes, rich historical heritage, and diverse cuisine.

Istanbul also serves as a major global hub, enabling seamless onward connections from Vietnam to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

A stable, frequent air route will also support bilateral business activities, from corporate meetings and partner visits to cargo transport and market expansion. Additionally, enhanced connectivity creates more favorable conditions for stronger co-operation in education, cultural exchange, research, and people-to-people ties.

Turkish Airlines’ growing presence in Vietnam, as reflected in the increased flight schedule, underscores its role not just in serving travel demand, but also in contributing to the broader expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.
