Local authorities in Bac Nha Trang Ward said on September 4 that they would take action against a number of unlicensed drink stalls and snack vendors operating along Luong Son Pass on Pham Van Dong Road.
The scenic coastal route includes the 15km-long Luong Son Pass, where sections of the road run alongside cliffs rising between 50 and 70 metres above sea level.
The area offers panoramic views of Nha Trang Bay and clear blue waters, making it a popular destination for residents and tourists seeking sightseeing and photography opportunities.
As visitor numbers have increased in recent months, several operators have set up makeshift cafes and food stalls to serve tourists.

Authorities expressed concern that many of these businesses have placed tables and chairs directly beside the cliff edge, allowing customers to enjoy the view while consuming food and drinks. Several of the locations reportedly lack safety barriers or warning signs.

Le Xuan Loc, head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Development Division of Bac Nha Trang Ward, said a task force had been established to inspect and address the situation at Luong Son Pass.
According to Loc, authorities in the former Nha Trang City had previously conducted multiple enforcement campaigns against encroaching businesses in the area and installed warning signs at several hazardous locations.
However, enforcement has proven difficult because many vendors operate on privately owned land.
Loc acknowledged that commercial activities at the site pose potential safety risks and said local authorities would take measures to ensure public safety along the popular coastal route.
