On May 14, Nguyen Van Hoa, chairman of the Cam Thinh Ward People's Committee in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province, confirmed that the incident occurred around 7 am the same day near the railway tracks in the area.
The unidentified woman was out for a morning walk and attempted to cross the tracks. As she reached the middle of the railway line, she was hit and thrown by an oncoming train.
Nearby residents quickly rushed to assist and transported her to a hospital for emergency treatment.
"Fortunately, her life is not in danger. She is currently being treated in hospital for multiple injuries," Hoa said.
Local authorities said initial investigations revealed that the train driver repeatedly sounded the horn in warning, but the woman still proceeded to cross the tracks.
