The Mui Ne Border Guard Station said fishing vessel CT 00787 TS, captained by 36-year-old Nguyen Hai Dang from Can Tho City, rescued the four men at around 1.20 am on October 21 near the Su Tu Trang offshore oil and gas field.

All four fishermen were reported to be in stable health. The rescue vessel was expected to reach Tran De Port in Can Tho City at around 11.30 am on October 23.
The fishermen had departed Mui Ne early on October 19 aboard fishing vessel BTh 80712 TS, captained by 44-year-old Nguyen Van Hai.
Authorities were alerted on October 21 that the boat had sunk about 43 nautical miles off Mui Ne Bay. The vessel was found with a damaged hull and no crew on board, prompting a search operation.
Following confirmation of the rescue, border guards maintained contact with the rescuing vessel and coordinated with local authorities to support the fishermen's families.
