Under a plan issued by the municipal People's Committee, local police will review drone-related activities and seek written commitments from all businesses and users to comply with relevant laws.

The campaign will focus on 63 wards and communes in areas subject to flight bans, covering residents, media and advertising firms, event organisers, photographers, filmmakers, drone retailers and repair shops, rental businesses and remote-controlled aircraft clubs.
Authorities will provide guidance on drone registration, flight permits, approval procedures and penalties for violations.
Information on no-fly zones and restricted airspace around Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Con Dao Airport and other designated sites will also be made public.
Local authorities have been instructed to identify businesses, organisations and individuals owning drones and encourage them to declare and register their equipment as required by law.
The municipal police department will oversee the campaign, with ward and commune police responsible for coordinating local reviews, compiling lists and obtaining compliance commitments from drone businesses and users.
Police will also work with relevant agencies to identify and address online advertisements for illegally imported drones and instructions for unlawfully assembling unmanned aircraft.
The Ho Chi Minh City Military Command will coordinate airspace management, provide information on flight restrictions and prepare personnel and equipment to detect and respond to unauthorised drone operations within its authority.
Ward and commune authorities must submit initial reports and figures on drone-related businesses by October 30, followed by year-end reports on public awareness activities, compliance commitments and administrative penalties by December 15.
