Krong A Commune Police in Daklak Province announced the handover on October 26.

On October 23, commune police, working with forest rangers, received the two turtles from Nguyen Thien Tam, who had voluntarily surrendered the animals.
Tam said he discovered the turtles caught in a net at around 9 pm on October 20 while checking his family’s coffee plantation.
He contacted Krong A Commune Police to report the discovery and seek guidance on handing the turtles over to the authorities.
After receiving the animals, police and forest rangers examined their physical characteristics and condition. They also completed the necessary procedures to determine appropriate measures for their care, rescue or transfer in accordance with regulations.
