Further social distancing imposed on Vinh City following Covid-19 outbreak

The central province of Nghe An has applied social distancing regulations in line with the government’s Directive 16 for Vinh City for a second time.

The move was made following a Covid-19 outbreak related to a local wholesale market.

Social distancing started from midnight Monday midnight until further notice. The city first applied social distancing from June 19 to July 3.

Since August 14, Nghe An Province has recorded 11 Covid-19 cases linked to Vinh wholesale market in Vinh City. Among the patients, six live in Vinh City, while the others are from Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen districts and Hoang Mai Town.

By August 16, local authorities had identified around 4,017 people related to the market. Of the figure, 283 have been sent to quarantined sites and 3,700 others have had to quarantine themselves at home.

The city has set up 13 Covid-19 check-points at gateway roads.
